Help celebrate Our 50th anniversary!

Since 1976, we’ve been the Bay Area’s portal for early music. As SFEMS approaches its 50th anniversary, help us ensure a vibrant future for SFEMS by contributing to our first-ever sustainability campaign!

Building on our signature “Pay What You Can” ticketing initiative—which enables anyone, irrespective of financial means, to attend live, world-class performances—we’re calling this our “Pay-It-Forward” campaign. Your support will underwrite SFEMS’ already-expansive and ever-growing programming, including:

  • ensuring the continued success of our pay-what-you-can ticketing model;

  • supporting the production of our annual main stage concert series;

  • sustaining the Berkeley Festival & Exhibition, heralded as a “remarkable institution” by The New York Times;

  • bolstering our summer educational workshops—the largest such program for amateurs in the United States

We’ve set a pledge goal of $500,000 by December 31, 2025, and we’re well on our way there. As of mid-August, we’ve already received over $350,000 in commitments from board members and other generous members of our community. And in celebration of our public launch, a generous supporter is offering a $30,000 matching grant to any campaign gifts that come in by September 30.

Will you join us in this celebration? Together, we can ensure broad and equitable access to early music for decades to come. Help us cross the finish line in style!

Your tax-deductible contribution can be made as a one-time donation, or fulfilled through December 31, 2026.
