Immerse yourself in the revolutionary spirit of the late 18th century with musicians from Valley of the Moon Music Festival—Sonoma’s acclaimed summer festival of Classical and Romantic music on period instruments. By blending the intimate sounds of the fortepiano with gut strings, their program will showcase the Classical era with chamber music by the “First Viennese School:” Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

Works include Mozart’s Violin Sonata in A Major (K. 526), Haydn’s Piano Trio in E-flat major (Hob. XV:29), Beethoven’s Variations on a theme from Mozart’s The Magic Flute in E-flat major (WoO 46), and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 in D Major, (Op. 36), arranged for piano trio by Beethoven’s pupil Ferdinand Ries.
