Dancers and Musicians The Art of the Consort will be the theme of the 2012 Medieval & Renaissance Workshop, and workshop directors Tom Zajac and Greta Hryciw and the all-star faculty will be making available to participants an unprecedented selection of classes related to this theme. Besides the usual recorder, viol, loud band, and voice offerings, there will be classes in harp, lute, crumhorn, Renaissance flute, dulcian, sackbut, and hand drums. Special classes to be offered include one for voices and viols, a lute song class, an entire consort of Renaissance recorders, and "broken" consorts of many kinds. There will also be "one shot" classes that will give participants the opportunity to try their hands (and lips) at some of the instruments listed above as well as exotica such as jawharp, bagpipes, pipe and tabor and citole. We are extremely proud of our distinguished 2012 faculty (listed below). Evening events will include playing sessions, lectures, concerts, and the theater project performance.
