Message from Tish Berlin, Director:

I am very happy to announce plans for the 2009 Music Discovery Workshop, a day camp for young people ages 7 to 15.
Join us as we bring alive the pageantry and excitement of an English Country Fair,
with singing, dancing, games, puppets, colorful characters, costumes, and edible entertainments.
|
We will be in residence at the
Crowden Center for Music in the Community
in Berkeley for the week of June 21-26.
 |
Our schedule includes
- an evening orientation and faculty presentation on Sunday June 21,
- classes from 9 to 3 Monday to Friday, and
- the theater project and student recital Friday evening,
followed by a delicious potluck feast.
|
 |
In addition to working with Theater Project Director Allison Rolls in a re-creation of an English country fair,
your children can study cello or viola da gamba with Farley Pearce,
violin with Carla Moore,
recorder with Vida Bateau, and harpsichord with Ron McKean.
Katherine Heater will nimbly lead the dance classes again, and
Shira Kammen returns with her infectious musicianship class.
|
Renaissance outdoor games will get us into the fresh air as usual, and we will all learn how to make pies
from original recipes for our feast.
Daily after-camp care can be arranged by prior agreement with one of our assistants.
This day camp for youth ages 7-15 is an exciting opportunity for your child to immerse him or herself
in the music and culture of old England.
I hope your child will be able to join us for a wonderful week of musical discoveries.
Workshop fees
The fee for the Music Discovery Workshop is $370 for enrollment received before May 1, and $400 for enrollment received May 1 or later. Discounts are available for additional family

Feel free to call or email me with questions.
