Announcing the 2013-2014 Concert Season
THE NEW MUSIC: Glorious, Impassioned, Outrageous!

". . . such a convincing presentation of 'old music as new music'. . . terrific" -Early Music (Oxford)
SFEMS' 37th season is a Grand Tour offering front-row seats at Europe's hottest venues of the 16th-18th centuries: cutting-edge music from the passionate avant-garde of the baroque, serene echoes of Parnassian perfection from Versailles, the power and glory of the Gabrielis' San Marco, the ferment of London's cosmopolitan concert scene in Handel's day.

The 2013 Summer Workshops

The SFEMS summer workshops are now available for enrollment. Our Medieval & Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Recorder adult workshops offer instrumental and vocal master classes, lectures, coached ensembles, recitals and provide opportunities for musicians and dancers at a variety of levels to improve their ensemble skills, and performance techniques.

The Music Discovery Workshop is an exciting multi-arts day camp for children ages 7-15. Music and social history come to life as participants study music from the 15th–17th centuries in instrumental classes, ensembles, singing, and musicianship. Drama, crafts, dance, and games round out the curriculum. The week ends with a concert and theater performance.

Once again, John Prescott will be giving his popular series of lectures for adults while the Music Discovery Workshop is in session. All interested adults are welcome. Enrollment in the lecture series is by the day or by the week, and is not subject to late fees.

Medieval and Renaissance, June 23-29
Classical, June 23-29
Baroque, June 30-July 6
Recorder, July 14-20 and 21-27

Music Discovery Workshop, June 23-28 (day camp for children ages 7-15)
Prescott Lectures, June 24-28 (for adults, during the day camp session).
Note: the deadline for early enrollment in the workshops is April 30. Beginning May 1, the fee for all workshops will be $50 more.
