Music of the French Baroque: Droll, Dramatic, and Sacred

Hello Baroque Music & Dance Enthusiasts,

Join us as we pursue the elegant French Baroque this coming summer. We are offering a music-packed schedule which includes master classes, coached ensembles, Baroque Orchestra, faculty and student concerts. This year’s projects will include scene workshops from French Baroque opera and cantatas, concerto evening (giving participants a chance to play with the workshop orchestra, directed by Michael Sand), Dance for Musicians with Tangkao Tan, wind ensembles and lectures.

This workshop takes placed on the beautiful campus of Dominican University of California in San Rafael, north of San Francisico, and a short drive up Highway 101 from the Golden Gate Bridge.

Be sure to mark your calendars now: June 18 - 24, 2006. We are looking forward to a fabulous workshop and some great music making.

Instrumentalists & Singers: Concerto Evening Information
This is your chance to perform with the Workshop Orchestra. In order to let as many people as possible play, we have to limit each participant to one movement. We would like to put together double concertos and multiple harpsichord concertos as well. Vocal pieces are also welcome. Please let us know by May 1st whether you'd like to be considered -- either by email or the phone number listed above. You will need to provide the orchestra parts, complete with measure numbers. Let us know if you need assistance hunting them up.
